Hello, my name is Oliver Hader,
Product Sales Manager for Hygienic Pumps.
And today I want to tell you a little bit
about our HYGIA
sealing concept.
We have in the HYGIA range
the K version with a stub shaft to the motor
and the Adapta version with a coupling in between.
And there we have different sealing options.
The same is that we have a single mechanical seal,
which is sitting ,
on the shaft
with a rotary part and the stationary part
in the backplate.
For the HYGIA K on top to flush the mechanical seals,
so in case you have a hot sugar sirup, for example,
or a sticky thing like hot wort you need a
flushing or lubrication.
And then you can add a lip seal and the
sealing chamber.
And then you have a single mechanical seal quench.
In the Adapta version the quench option
is not available.
There, we have two different types to flush
the mechanical seal.
One is the tandem mechanical seal,
where we have a
sealing chamber that has the mechanical seal
inside the chamber,
and the second mechanical seal inside the
product room.
This is always lubricated by the medium.
And then we can flush from the back with
this chamber.
And we have a back-to-back solution.
There, both mechanical seals are in the
sealing chamber,
so no sealing in the product room.
But this needs to be over pressurized.
So this one is running two bar over the pump pressure
to make sure that the product does not come
to the outer area.
or both options we offer the simple single mechanical
seal with an open spring
which is used for water, for example, or for
industrial applications or waste water.
And we can equip them with an encapsulated
mechanical seal
or hygienic and sterile applications.
On top for this, we offer the pharmaceutical
mechanical seal,
where you have some cutouts in the sealing surface
to reduce the surface.
This is used for WFI because this is so reactive
that it will destroy the sealing surface.
And with this one we can go without a flushed sealing
in WFI applications.
