The lifetime expectation of our
machines is between 25 to 35 years.
In a fast-changing world,
we see that modularity and flexibility are
key to be able to obtain those
long lifetimes.
NexGen Press is a product
I really believe in.
It's the press of the future.
It has a modular design
and it takes into account a lot of aspects
that are requested by our customers.
We have significantly reduced
the footprint of the machine because
the number of tablets that our customers
can produce per cubic meter
become more and more important as well.
We have a lot of option packages
that allow you to order a machine
that fits your needs of today,
and at any time during the life cycle
of the machine,
you can order additional option packs.
You can use the machine for single-layer
tableting, but it can be extended
with packages for micro tablets.
You can even make MUPS tablets or bi-layer
tablets with one single platform.
And you don't need to buy
everything from the start.
The NexGen Press also is fit
with our second generation of
fast changeover ECM,
or Exchangeable Compression Module.
It is a contained box
built around the product contact
and format parts, and it's a box
that contains all the product inside.
So there's no contamination of the inside
of the machine,
no contamination of the production room,
meaning that at the end of a batch or
the end of a campaign,
you can remove the box as a whole
bring it to a cleaning room
and already prepare your production
room for your next campaign.
Like that, we are increasing
the productivity of the machine
on an annual basis.
That's also how we
like to look at productivity.
If there's more market demand
for the product,
instead of buying a second machine,
they could also buy a second ECM,
meaning that in the same cubic meters
in the same production room,
you can increase your production capacity.
If we look at that from a sustainability
perspective, you are not using the energy
for two production rooms,
but only for one production room.
So together with the development launch
of the NexGen Press,
GEA also launched the Add Better label.
The Add Better label focuses on reducing
energy consumption, building
our machines in a more sustainable way.
So if we compare NexGen Press
with the former module range,
we have obtained an energy consumption
reduction of about 20 to 30%,
which is quite, quite significant.
And we have a specific
high-containment solution as well,
where at the end of the campaign,
for operator safety,
a washing cycle is required.
And although we already had a very
efficient concept with our Wash-Off-Line
concept, we have further decreased water
consumption by introducing
the second generation of ECM.
We have further optimized the washing
cycle to reduce the consumption of water.
I can conclude that energy efficiency is
not only about reducing the energy
consumption of your machine,
but it's looking at new solutions
that also help our customers to reduce
the energy consumption
in their production plants.
