My name is Phillip Gabb. I am the Head of
Sales for Pharma Solids within GEA.
My background is twenty years with GEA
in various sales roles but now actually
responsible for teams in both the UK and
in Belgium across our batch continuous
compression and contained materials
handling business. This morning we had
a very successful press conference to
highlight the collaboration that is
taking place between GEA and a number
of other senior companies. Leading
companies within the pharmaceutical
industry. Companies that you can see
listed behind me. We are all working
together to facilitate the adoption of
continuous manufacturing. Continuous
manufacturing is a growing part of the
future for production of tablets and
capsules as well as other medicine
products. But it is a new process. It is
something that the industry faces quite
a lot of challenges and they need help
to overcome those challenges. Whilst GEA
can supply very good market leading
process equipment there are other areas
of the business that we don't have the
expertise to solve those problems. So by
working together, by collaborating with
other companies, we all enable our
customers to deliver continuous
manufacturing with all the benefits that
that brings. Continuous manufacturing
brings significant reductions in cost, in
risk, and shorter times to market. All of
these things are very attractive to any
pharmaceutical producer
